Gold Coast Airport

If you are flying to the Gold Coast for your holiday, you have the option to fly into Brisbane Airport or Gold Coast Airport.

The Gold Coast Airport is located at Coolangatta, considerably closer to Ashmore Palms than Brisbane Airport. Gold Coast Airport is approximately a 30-40 drive from Ashmore Palms. (Allow an extra 20 minutes for transfers between 7.30am and 9.30am and also between 4.30pm and 6.30pm, in case of heavy business traffic).

Various transfer options are available from Gold Coast Airport to Ashmore Palms. The Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle operates 'door-to-door' airport and theme park transfers to and from Ashmore Palms. Please click on the Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle website link provided to view their transfer prices including 'Special Passes' which include both airport / theme park transfers and use of local bus services.
You can pre-purchase all Shuttle tickets from Ashmore Palms - please allow at least 14 days before commencement of travel for tickets to be processed and mailed. Alternatively, on arrival at the Gold Coast Airport, you can purchase tickets at the Shuttle service desk located inside the terminal.
As the Shuttle meets all arriving flights into the Gold Coast Airport, it is not necessary to book your arrival transfer, but your return must be booked at least 24 hours in advance with the Ashmore Palms Reception Team. Theme park transfers can also be booked with the reception team and bookings for this service must be made by 7pm the day prior to travel. Payment for all tickets is required upon booking unless you have pre-purchased transfer tickets.

Gold Coast Cabs is the Gold Coast's local taxi service and can provide transfers directly to Ashmore Palms. A taxi rank is located outside of the domestic terminal.

Brisbane Airport

Brisbane Airport is approximately 80 minutes drive from Ashmore Palms. (Allow an extra 30 minutes for transfers between 7.00am and 9.00am and also between 4.30pm and 6.30pm, in case of heavy business traffic). Although some of the flight specials into Brisbane Airport are cheaper than into the Gold Coast, when weighing up the cost, remember that the airport transfers may be at a higher price from Brisbane Airport.

A train service is available from Brisbane Airport with Airtrain, which runs express services to the Gold Coast. If you use Airtrain, we suggest you disembark at Nerang Station (which is 8km from Ashmore Palms) and catch a taxi to the Village. Or opt for the Airtrain Connect service which includes limousine transfer from Nerang Train Station to Ashmore Palms. Please book these transfers with Ashmore Palms Reception Team at least 24 hours before your arrival. Payment is required upon booking.

Coach transfers are available from Brisbane Airport to Ashmore Palms. Please book these with Ashmore Palms Reception Team at least 24 hours before your arrival. Payment is required upon booking.

Theme Park Transfers

The Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle offers affordably-priced transfers to and from the major theme parks, with daily collection outside Ashmore Palms’ Reception. Some packages also include free use of the public bus service. These transfer packages can be purchased from Ashmore Palms’ Reception Team during your holiday. After purchase of your package, simply inform our Reception Team where you wish to travel each day and we will include you on the run sheet for the theme park of your choice.

If you are travelling with a school group, sporting group or family and friends, there are some small local coach companies that can provide affordable group transportation to the local attractions. Enquire with Ashmore Palms Reception Team for more information.

Day tours and other transfers can be booked with Ashmore Palms Reception. Full payment is required in advance.

Hire Cars on the Gold Coast

If you are interested in exploring all the Gold Coast has to offer, we suggest that you hire a vehicle. The Holiday Reception Team can assist you with contact details for local car hire companies. If you require a hire car from Gold Coast or Brisbane Airport, we suggest you make arrangements at least 48 hours in advance.

Ashmore Palms Free Courtesy Shuttle

Ashmore Palms also offers a courtesy shuttle for holiday guests to select local locations. These transfers run at set times on set days each week to locations such as Surfers Paradise, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, Harbour Town Shopping Centre and Surfers Paradise Night Markets. Details of the departure times are detailed in the Activities Calendar issued on arrival at Ashmore Palms.

If you have your own vehicle, driving in and around the Gold Coast is relatively easy.
